All Disneyed out

Last day today. We went to the main pool in our resort which had awesome water slides. Mum was afraid of the big slide that turned into a dark tunnel. Epcot was great. We got to meet all the characters even Goofy my fave.
I have never done so much walking!! We had Chinese for lunch at the China section of Epcot. It was nice to eat some rice at last.
Seriously I can't believe Australia is so far behind with TV shows. There is a cross over between iCarly and Victorious that happened in June here and is a long way from being on in Australia. A.N.T Farm is up to season 2 and we are only up to season 1. I love American TV!

Americans have funny names for things. At our resort food court we can buy snicker doodles, goobers, and grape jelly. We avoided the 'Jerk crusted Tuna' (What the?) and the chicken fingers (who knew they had hands?).

Nicky choose China from the range of countries for lunch and it was good to have a familiar looking beef and rice dish - without a side of slaw and 38 different condiments.

Epcot is all about the future and the travel through communication throughout time in the main dome was interesting but stops at the personal computer and needs updating with smart phones, blogs, aps etc. Even Future Land needs an upgrade to catch up to the future!

Disney has been great and I'm thankful I had only one child who is able to be reasoned with. Many overwrought parents and children were not having the happiest days of their lives. Am looking forward to a change of pace with the rels tomorrow. Hopefully I can post some pics then.

Too much Disney is never enough

Orlando has been having hot sunny mornings and tropical storms in the afternoon. We worked out 6 hours is plenty at a Disney Park and most excitement happens in the evenings so we've been sleeping in, having late brekkies and swimming before heading off to as much Disney we can take.

Magic Kingdom is very well done. Old fashioned buildings, beautiful gardens and parades and stage shows at every turn. We had just finished a double scoop choc ice cream (Nicky) and Sundae with hot fudge, cream and a cherry on top when a huge tropical storm broke. Most people ran for cover but we ran for Space Mountain where the rain had reduced a 45 minute wait time to zero. How scary is roller coaster in the dark!

Nicky was brave but her mum almost lost the sundae... We have the photo to prove it.

Our resort is pretty and scrupulously clean - set on a man made lake complete with beaches, ducks, hammocks and even a squirrel.

Oh -forgot to mention the 'broccoli slaw' that accompanied lunch. Coleslaw made with shredded broccoli instead of cabbage! No really! Still have not found a decent coffee. Hopefully Amherst will come up with the goods.

Best theme park so far. It had great shows and good music. Especially liked Monsters Inc and my cheeseburger. Space mountain really fun. I was screaming this is awesome. Mum was just screaming her head off!

Hollywood Studio's

Today we went to the famous Disney Hollywood studios.
We took a backlot tour, went to see a 20 min. Session of beauty and the beast and ended up with a laser light & firework show.
We also went to a sic-fi fake drive in movie cafe.

Help! Can't find a decent flat white in all of Disney. Have been living on brewed - I think it's the half and half that makes any cappuccino attempt taste terrible.

We did have some yummy steaks today - I had an excellent steak and blue cheese salad with crisy bacon. Yum!

Off to Magic kingdom tomorrow.
Still can't work out how to upload images from an iPad to blog - it's like it can't find them. Any ideas?

USA is hot and steamy

After a very very long trip via Dallas we arrived in Disney Carribbean Beach Resort at 10 pm. Very humid weather mid 30s.

Cousin Rhonda and Desley made the plane trip go faster with a glass of merlot and one of champagne. We saw many movies including Water for Elephants and King Fu Panda 2.

Spent Sunday taking it easy swimming at resort and shopping at Downtown Disney. Went to Planet Hollywood for lunch and Nicky had a massive plate of ribs that she almost managed to finish!

Blog seems to have issues uploading images from iPad so we will post some pics as soon as we figure out how.

We're ready to go!!
